Website and The Wellness App Launch
The Fountain of Health has launched our updated website and free web-based app at www.fountainofhealth.ca and www.wellnessapp.ca, now available in English and French. These new sites feature the THRIVE © Approach to Wellbeing—an evidence-based model to integrate the science of wellbeing, as well as a 3-step method to apply effective health behaviour change. One of the best ways to look after your health is by setting small, achievable goals in areas that are valuable to you. The Wellness App is designed to help you track your goal, providing support and encouragement along the way.

Local Project
The Fountain of Health just finished offering The Art and Science of Aging Well – a 1-hour webinar for older adults thanks to funding provided by the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia. This webinar is designed to encourage individuals to lead fulfilling lives as they age.

The Art and Science of Aging Well webinar, delivered in both English and French, allows participants to explore strategies for healthy aging, offers practical insights, and empowers attendees with tools to embrace health and wellbeing. Preliminary results show:

  • 92% of participants reported that attending the webinar positively changed the way they think about aging, and
  • 95% of participants reported that they were motivated to increase their own self-care.

One participant stated, “Having the material presented as the THRIVE © Approach to Wellbeing was very helpful. I was already familiar with the SMART goal acronym but it was good to have it reinforced.Thank you very much and I do hope that the follow-up sessions will be funded. Please convey that this is one Nova Scotian who can see that the “front end loading” reality of spending money to help people age in a healthy manner saves tons of money down the road. It is money that is very well spent.’

You can join the wait list for Fountain of Health’s free webinars including the 1-hour The Art and Science of Aging Well, 1-hour THRIVE with Self-Compassion and the 4-week Optimal Aging Workshop (www.fountainofhealth.ca/en/individuals) .
